Evenflo Symphony Convertible Car Seat with SureLATCH – Northbay
I almost purchased this seat for our second child, thinking it would be ideal once we outgrew the infant seat but changed my mind after reading some reviews and doing a little more homework.
This car seat is for use rear facing with children 5 to 35 lbs, forward facing with 5-point harness with children 20 to 40 lbs, or forward facing as a belt positioning booster with children 30 to 100 lbs.
While I cannot predict my child’s future weight, I do know my son is already 35 lbs at 2. 5 years old and my nephew is 40 lbs at 3 years old. . . so I would say this seat wouldn’t be the only seat I would need, thus defeating the purpose.
For those with larger children and/or boys, I would recommend taking the above into account. That aside, I was pretty much sold on the seat. . . now I’m back to square one!
For some reason people think this seat harnesses to 100lbs, it does NOT. . . this seat is WAYYYY overpriced for what you get. . . it only works to 40lbs people as a harnessed seat, please keep your child harnessed for a long as possible and get a seat like a TrueFit
We bought this one over the Graco Nautilus 3 in 1 (which has top reviews). Even with the latches tightly in place the whole think just wobbles around and does not seem safe AT ALL for the baby. I even pushed down on the seat to tighten the latches more (as described in the instruction manual). The instructions then say to roll up a towel and place it in the gap between the base and the seat to level the car seat which I did and it made absolutely no difference. This product is garbage and is being returned today.
this is a great car seat for the $$$. i got the heathrow color and the fabric was very comfortable for my little boy. even though the seat itself is HUGE, i still managed to fit it, rear-facing and reclined all the way back, in the back of my scion tc. the sure-latch triggers helped me unhook it and spin it so i can secure my infant and re-secure it without breaking a nail. if you have a car with the latch system don’t buy a car seat without those little triggers.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this car seat. My 8 month old son feels so comfortable in this seat, he goes right to sleep almost every time. It is the most plush car seat out there, and the forward facing recline is unbelievable. You get so many options with this seat, it truly is a seat he can grow with. It’s a little pricey, but well worth it, especially since he will be in this seat for a least 4 years. We loved it so much we got two, so we didn’t have to transfer it for vehicle to vehicle.
